About P O Dixon

P O Dixon acknowledges arriving rather late in the game. Her initial exposure to Pride and Prejudice was in 2007. After watching the 2005 film at least two times a day for as many weeks, she determined she needed to know much more of the story’s hero. After reading the novel, along with several excellent ‘what-if’ books that told the story from Mr. Darcy’s perspective, she came across a link to the online JAFF community.

Main Characters: Catie Elizabeth Darcy, Sean Kelley, Ben Darcy

Synopsis: A tragic plane crash eight years earlier has left Catherine Elizabeth
Darcy orphaned and in the custody of her overly protective brother,
Bennet. Since then, her life at Pemberley Estate — the Darcy’s
ancestral home in Derbyshire, England — has been sheltered and
lacking adventure of any kind.
When 16-year-old Catie arrives home for her school holiday, she
is expecting another long, boring summer of daydreaming and
whiling away warm afternoons reading the romance novels her
brother calls “rubbish.” What she discovers, however, is a handsome
yet insufferable Irishman named Sean Kelly, her summer riding
instructor. Coupled with an intriguing and mysterious WWI-era
diary, which she finds hidden in the window seat of her bedroom,
Catie Darcy’s summer soon proves to be anything but boring.

About Cynthia I Hensley

My name is Cynthia I. Hensley, paperback romantic and chronic Anglophile. A couple of years ago I left a career in early childhood education to follow my love of writing and devote myself to the occupation fulltime. My work as been well received with my local writer’s workshop, encouraging me to start marketing my manuscripts. I was born in the mountains of North Carolina and like so many of us, storytelling is in my blood. I live near Asheville, NC with my husband Doug and son Anthony. I couldn’t have done this without their support.

Though I have written several stories pertaining to my North Carolina roots, my first novel, Echoes of Pemberley is nothing of the sort. This novel is the story of a girl. A girl, despite her wealth, the reader can connect to and fall in love with. Like all girls, she is a girl with a story to share, this is Catie’s story.

About the Author:

Karen has been a Jane Austen fan since she read Pride & Prejudice as a diversion from the grind of graduate school. Years later, in 2006, she found Jane Austen fan-fiction, lurked for a couple of years, and began writing and posting stories in 2009.

Karen was born in Everett, Washington, and at age 11, after a somewhat nomadic childhood, moved to her family’s home state of Kentucky. She still lives there, in a quiet little town with her husband, son, and daughter. She works as a speech-language pathologist almost full-time, and spends the rest of her time reading, writing, gardening, and being a wife and mom.

Karen M. Cox

I wrote my first book when I was nine – did the illustrations too. It was a dramatic tale about an elephant family and how they rebuilt their home in the aftermath of a flood. Over the years, I wrote other things, short stories mostly, the skeleton of a novel, but I was too shy to ever share them with anyone.

I began writing in earnest in 2006, as a way to cope with the grief of losing a family member. That was also the year I found Jane Austen fan-fiction and was hooked on it immediately. I loved the different ways authors interpreted the characters and events of my all-time favorite story, Pride & Prejudice. I devoured every story I could find, but lurked for a long while before I summoned the courage to comment on any stories.

I wrote my first Jane Austen fan fiction story in 2009 in response to a conversation with my then fourteen year-old son who was also writing stories in another fandom, and actually posting them. I decided I could be brave like my kid, and put my work out there. Pressing that ‘submit’ button for the first time was nerve wracking , but I figured this was one way to give back to the on-line fiction community I enjoyed. It didn’t hurt that Jane Austen fan fiction is a fandom that is supportive of authors. I found it very gratifying to entertain other readers and provide them with some diversion from everyday life.

About Linda Wells

Linda Wells was born in 1966 in Pennsylvania. She earned a B.S. in Geography, and worked several years for engineering companies preparing environmental impact statements before marrying and becoming mom to her son Rick in 1993. His disabilities changed her life from career woman to stay-at-home mom. She looked for many outlets for creativity over the years, cooking, gardening, quilting, and never thought of writing until a certain man named Darcy stepped into her life.
Inspired by the 2005 film Pride and Prejudice, she purchased a copy of Jane Austen’s novel, and fell under the spell of the unforgettable characters and story. Wondering about those characters eventually led her to discover the world of Jane Austen Fan Fiction, and after reading many stories, decided to write down the one that was nagging at her. Her first story, Chance Encounters, was self-published in September 2008, followed by Fate and Consequences in March 2009, and finally Perfect Fit in September 2009. She intends to self-publish Memory in 2010. She has many ideas for new stories, and with luck and a cooperative muse, they will be written too.
