Unwilling to telephone his fiancée, Jane Bennet, at 1:00 in the morning for a ride home after spending the night in the company of his friends, William Darcy and Richard Fitzwilliam, an inebriated Charles Bingley decides to call his future sister-in-law, Elizabeth Bennet, instead. While all three men are in need of assistance from Elizabeth, Darcy happens to desire a bit more from her than she might be prepared to give him. Madly in love with her since he'd first laid his dark, penetrating eyes on her many months prior, Darcy is determined to make the most of the awkward situation in which he finds himself and win her at last. Hijinxs ensue and, in the end, the entire P&P gang ends up getting much, much more than any of them ever bargained for. About the Author
Pick Me Up was originally presented by sadriani as a short piece consisting of only 1000 words. At the encouragement of several friends, she expanded upon the original and it became what it is today - a very short story in 18 parts, and just over 18,000 words. There is also a vignette included at the end.
Author's Note: This book is intended as a fluffy farce and contains adult situations, some explicit. It is not for the Austen purist.
